Aspen Ladd first began training in combat sports at the age of 14. She was a kickboxer, boxer and wrestling before she made her first amateur appearance at WCFC in front of Jaimee Nievera. Ladd was on a stunning three-fight winning streak in Ultimate Reno Combat. In each of the three bouts she beat her opponent in the very first round. In WCFC Ladd fought, she defeated Leslie Rodriguez with a unanimous decision. Aspen was first beaten by Silvia Babyghian before going on to fight Maddy Simmons at WCFC 9, where she faced Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia gave Aspen an unanimity loss and outclassed her to tarnish Ladd's amateur career. Ladd bounced back from defeat in the final by beating Roma Pawelek in Tuff-N'-Uff, which brought her record to 8-1. Aspen began her professional career in the year 2015. Aspen signed with Invicta FC and made her debut. The InvictaFC11 fight was her very first professional fight. She was a rout of Ana Carolina Vidal, securing the 1st-round TKO. Invicta defeated her at bantamweight and was victorious via submission armbar in the second round. Aspen utilized the abilities she acquired in wrestling to beat McGill. The two fighters put on an intense battle that concluded with Ladd triumphing via a unanimous decision and each fighter receiving an award known as the Fight of the Night bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie ended Ladd in just 16 seconds to end her winning streak. Then she bounced back and defeated Yana Kunitskaya after the third round at UFC on ESPN 7. Her most recent bout for the UFC she fought Norma Dumont at UFC Fight Night 195 as a replacement fight. The fight was unanimously decided against her.
